The Maserati MCXTrema is the brand's new track-only supercar

Maserati’s big reveal at Monterey Car Week was a track-only homologated race car called the MCXtrema. Based on the MC20, the MCXtrema takes the supercar’s 3.0L twin-turbo Nettuno V6 and pumps it up to 730 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque. Paying homage to the brand’s racing heritage, the car has been carefully tuned when it comes to aerodynamics with bold visual elements that are also purposeful, helping the MCXtrema cut through the air while also enhancing downforce. One of the best details is the brand’s tribute to its iconic trident, which has been translated into a sleek rear light motif.

Inside, the car takes a minimalist approach, focusing on keeping the car as light as possible while still creating a unique cabin that’s both ergonomic and visually striking. One of the main highlights of the interior is the carbon and aluminum steering wheel that has a 5″ central display, an array of buttons, a rotary selector, and an ergonomic grip. You’ll also find a racing seat with a six-point safety belt, an FIA-homologated roll cage, safety nets, and an integrated safety roof hatch.

Maserati has built 62 MCXtremas and the entire run is already sold out.
