Mercedes-AMG unveils the GT 43 Coupe

Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-AMG adds a new entry-level model to the AMG GT lineup with the reveal of the rear-wheel-drive GT 43 Coupe. Powered by AMG’s handcrafted 2.0L inline-four, the turbocharged engine might be the entry point to the range but still produces a very impressive 416 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, allowing for a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 174 mph. The car also features an electric exhaust gas turbocharger that is derived from F1 technology to enhance throttle response across the entire rpm range and a 48-volt on-board electrical system keeps things smooth and comfortable at lower engine speeds.

Additional performance upgrades include an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission with a wet start-off clutch, active aerodynamics, a multi-link suspension with lightweight aluminum components, an AMG high-performance composite brake system, and AMG DYNAMIC SELECT with five different drive modes. The exterior of the GT 43 brings a new front fascia look with large air inlets, narrower front and rear fenders, a narrower track width, and model-exclusive round double tailpipe trim accents.

The GT 43 can also be configured with an AMG Exterior Chrome Package with high-gloss chrome accents throughout the exterior or an AMG Night Package with high-gloss black accents. An AMG Night Package II option adds various elements in dark chrome. Inside, the vehicle comes fitted with AMG sport seats in Nappa leather and there are trim elements that come in a choice of high-gloss black, aluminum, AMG carbon fiber, and dark chrome.

A release date for the 2025 AMG GT 43 has not yet been announced.
