Icon unveils its latest Reformer, a one-off 1975 Jeep Cherokee called the “Safe Flight.” Icon founder Jonathan Ward set off on a mission to correct the inaccuracies of the tribal and historical references in the original vehicle’s design, consulting with tribal leaders to create a new motif based on a traditional Cherokee pattern.
After extensive research, Ward came upon a Cherokee pattern representing an eagle feather that symbolizes “safe flight.” The pattern is used throughout the exterior and interior of the vehicle such as the hand-painted sides that complement the custom Porsche Chalk paint.
Inside you’ll find a generous amount of leather from Moore & Giles, which features Sheridan-style carving details in the seats and door trim. Power comes from a HEMI 6.4L V8 that produces 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque and it’s paired to a custom-built GM 4L85E automatic transmission, an Atlas II transfer case, and a PSC power steering box.
It’s also equipped with ICON-specific Dana high-pinion axles and BF Goodrich All-Terrain K02 tires with ICON Old School Forged 18″ aluminum wheels. Additional features include a Vintage Air Gen IV HVAC system, power windows, door locks, Focal Utopia speakers with a modern audio system, and LED-backed interior lighting.
“Safe Flight” is a one-of-one vehicle.
