Always one to celebrate the past, Hodinkee teams up with Zenith once again on a limited edition tribute to the prototype El Primero from 1970. The Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar Limited Edition for Hodinkee balances a classic look with modern watchmaking and the precision of the El Primero. The watch features a 38mm case in brushed and polished stainless steel, a raise sapphire crystal that is a nod to the acrylic used on vintage models, and black and white dial with Gibeon Meteorite registered and a specially produced black moon phase disc.
Inside the watch is the El Primero Caliber 3610, a new movement that adds a calendar function to the 3600 while maintaining the high-beat rate and column-wheel design of the original movement. The movement features a complete calendar, moon phase, a 1/10th of a second chronograph, and a power reserve of 60 hours. The watch also comes with two strap options: a black calfskin leather strap with a pin buckle and a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp.
The Zenith Chronomaster Original Limited Edition is limited to 200 pieces. The first 75 pieces are now available at the Hodinkee shop and the rest will be available at Zenith’s online store on October 9th.
