Hodinkee and Tag Heuer have teamed up for their third collaboration, reviving the Seafarer model that was designed for Abercrombie & Fitch in the 1950s. Using the new Carrera as a base, the Carrera Chronograph Seafarer x Hodinkee features a 42mm stainless steel case with a glassbox sapphire crystal and a dial that was directly inspired by the Ref 2446C model from 1968. The domed crystal recreates the look of a vintage plexiglass crystal, protecting the black opaline dial.
The dial features Regatta and Tide subdials with blue accents that are accurate to the original watch’s color codes and it’s all surrounded by a internal bezel in matching black opaline. Inside the watch is Tag Heuer’s own TH20-13 in-house movement, an automatic movement that features a tide indicator chronograph and a power reserve of 80 hours.
Limited to 968 pieces, the Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph Seafarer x Hodinkee is now available via Hodinkee’s online store and Tag Heuer boutiques worldwide.
