As expected, Apple has unveiled its new iPhone 16 lineup with features like their largest displays yet for their Pro models and a new A18 chip that powers their new Apple Intelligence features. Now available with 6.3″ and 6.9″ Ceramic Shield 2nd-gen-covered displays, the new 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are powered by the A18 Pro and comes in four new titanium finishes: black titanium, natural titanium, white titanium, and desert titanium and all models now start at 256GB.
Cameras have been upgraded with a new 48MP Fusion camera that packs a faster quad-pixel sensor with 4K120 fps video capability in Dolby Vision and is joined by a new 48MP Ultra Wide. And both models now have the 5x Telephoto lens. The upgraded camera system is further enhanced by a new button called “Camera Control” that works as both a pressure-sensitive button and trackpad, allowing for features like a two-stage shutter and the ability to slide your way through different modes.
Available with a 6.1″ or 6.7″ OLED display, the new iPhone 16 models bring an updated range of color-infused glass backs in black, pink, teal, and ultramarine, the latest generation Ceramic Shield technology for enhanced screen durability, an action button, and a “Camera Control” button. The phones are powered by the A18 chip with a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine for enhanced performance when used with the new Apple Intelligence features and both models pack a dual-camera system with a 48MP Fusion camera and a 12MP Ultra Wide.
Pre-orders for the 16 and 16 Pro models begin at 5AM PST on September 13th and in-store availability begins on September 20th.
